Charter Induction Ceremony

The newly formed Battle of Valcour, Empire State SAR, will receive their charter at the Elks Club, Plattsburgh, NY. All are invited to attend the ceremony and a buffet luncheon to follow at noon. ($18 per adult, ages 7-12 $9, 6 and under: free) Guest speaker: Historian David Glenn.

Following the luncheon there will be a Vermont SAR gravemarking dedication for Patriot Adoniram Parrot, 1758-1842, 2:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery, Plattsburgh, NY. Musket Firing by local reenactors, Memorial Prayer, Unveiling of SAR Gravemarker, VTSSAR Color Guard Presenting Colors, History of the Patriot, Singing of the “Noble Lads of Canada” a song Patriot Parrot loved -sung by Compatriot Stanley A. Ransom “The Connecticut Peddler”. Remarks from the oldest surviving decendent of Patriot Adoniram Parrot -great, great granddaughter Shirley Veele. Battle of Valcour Chapter, Empire State Chapter (ESSSAR), Saratoga Battle Chapter, Vermont Society SAR (VTSSAR) and the Saranac Chapter DAR participating.
